Earlier this month, we told you about the casting of Rachel Weisz (Page Eight, Dream House) and Michelle Williams (Shutter Island, Blue Valentine) in director Sam Raimi ‘s forthcoming film for Walt Disney Pictures, entitled Oz: The Great and Powerful. Weisz will be portraying Evanorah, the Wicked Witch of the East and older sister of Mila Kunis‘ character, Theodorah, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Williams will be portraying Glinda, the good witch.
Now, Variety reports that Joey King (Crazy, Stupid, Love.) who, we recently told you was cast in director Christopher Nolan‘s forthcoming Bat-flick, The Dark Knight Rises, and Zach Braff (Scrubs, The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea) have joined the cast of Raimi’s Oz: The Great and Powerful. Braff will portray the assistant of James Franco‘s OZ character, and King will portray China Girl, a girl made of porcelain who is taken in by Oz after an evil witch kills her family.
Oz: The Great and Powerful is slated to hit theaters on March 8th, 2013.
