Oliver Queen’s Family Continues to Grow as ARROW Casts His Sister

These Arrow casting announcements just keep coming. We don’t mind; we’d much rather learn of casting than learn that the project is on hold because of casting, as we told you has happened with the Munsters reboot Mockingbird Lane. At this point we have Stephen Amell as Oliver/Arrow, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Susanna Thompson as Oliver’s mother Moira, and Katie Cassidy as Laurel for this pilot based on the DC Comics Green Arrow.

Now we have word from Deadline that Willa Holland (Legion, Gossip Girls) has been cast as Oliver’s sister, Thea Queen. Here’s the casting breakdown:

THEA QUEEN
What They’re Looking For: 17 years old (suggest 17-22 years), Oliver’s Lolita-esque sister, Thea was a 12 year old girl when he went on his infamous yachting voyage — but now she’s a celebutante who’s testing the boundaries of acceptable behavior. Thea loved her big brother with all her heart, and is delighted to have him back in her life — but she’s spreading her wings, and is unprepared for Oliver to become the Bad Cop in the family, restricting her access to boys and drugs.

That’s all but one of the main cast of characters set, according to the casting breakdown we posted last month. So, who will be playing Oliver’s former best friend Tommy Merlyn? And more important, will this pilot get picked up for a series by The CW? We’ll keep you posted!
