Nic Cage’s Stolen Copy of Action Comics #1 Resurfaces

Nicolas Cage‘s (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) copy of Action Comics #1 has finally been recovered after being stolen ten years ago. The mint condition issue of the 73 year-old comic book, which features the first appearance of Superman resurfaced in a storage locker and its authenticity has been verified by Detective Don Hrycyk of the Los Angeles Police Dept.’s Art Theft Detail.

There are no details yet on who committed the crime, or how the priceless comic ended up in the storage locker, but police say they are following up on every available lead. Hrycyk also stated that, because Cage accepted an insurance payout for the stolen item back in 2000, he may not get it back.

Action Comics #1 from 1938, being the first appearance of Superman, is one of the most coveted comic books on the planet. The publication sold for 10 cents when it was fresh off the presses; last March a copy was sold at auction for $1.5 million.

So, Cage may not get it back? Does anyone wanna go in halves-ies with me? No? 10,000th-ies?
