New TORCHWOOD Comic: John Barrowman Teams Up With Artist Tommy Lee Edwards

Can’t stop the BBC hit series Torchwood! The first issue of the brand new Torchwood comic book is hot on stands this week from Titan Publishing. Actor John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness) and his sister and frequent collaborator, Carole E. Barrowman, have teamed up with the acclaimed artist Tommy Lee Edwards for this project.

There are two original stories in Issue #1, including the tale of Captain Jack and the Selkie and Broken, the first part of a five-part story written by Torchwood script editor Gary Russell. In Captain Jack and the Selkie, “Jack [faces] a deadly threat on a remote Scottish island, where people are disappearing one by one” and “to his horros, Jack starts to suspect he may know who, or rather what, is responsible.” Broken “sees Captain Jack, Gwen and Ianto get trapped in a cosmic hotel, while an old villain from the TV series returns.”

Edwards is currently working with TV personality Jonathan Ross on his successful comic series Turf. There will be two covers available to collect for each Torchwood issue. Check out the trailer for the comic below.
