Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have released yet another animated short film for director Zack Snyder‘s forthcoming film, Sucker Punch. Just two days ago, they released the first animated short entitled The Trenches. Both films were animated by Ben Hibon, who directed The Tale of Three Brothers animated sequence in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1.
Check out the synopsis for the short film and the video itself below, along with the first short that was released, in case you missed it the first time around…. ’cause I’m cool like that!
Synopsis: The Dragon
“In Sucker Punch, the girls drop into a castle courtyard and find themselves in the middle of a chaotic battle between a hoard of gruesome Orcs and an army of Black Knights. The original cause of the massive conflict is hopelessly lost amidst the death and destruction. ‘Dragon’ is a tale of religious persecution exploring the origin of this conflict. Who is the righteous and who is the heathen?”

Synopsis: THE TRENCHES
In Sucker Punch, the girls face off against an army of mechanized WWI soldiers. Through the use of clockwork and steam technology, human soldiers who die in battle are reanimated and sent back to the front lines. Although seemingly indistinguishable and soulless, the zombie army is not just made of gears and steam, but also of human flesh, bone, and memory. In “The Trenches” there is a tragic tale behind each lifeless mask.
Synopsis:
“Close your eyes. Open your mind. You will be unprepared.
Sucker Punch is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.
She has been locked away against her will, but Babydoll (Emily Browning) has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls-the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung) and the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish)-to band together and try to escape their terrible fate at the hands of their captors, Blue (Oscar Isaac), Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino) and the High Roller (Jon Hamm).
Led by Babydoll, the girls engage in fantastical warfare against everything from samurais to serpents, with a virtual arsenal at their disposal. Together, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice in order to stay alive. But with the help of a Wise Man (Scott Glenn), their unbelievable journey-if they succeed-will set them free.
Sucker Punch, directed by Zack Snyder is slated to hit theaters on March 25th, 2011 and stars Carla Gugino, Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone, Jon Hamm, Michael Jai White, Abbie Cornish, Emily Browning, and Jamie Chung.
