We are getting so many wonderful bits and pieces of Star Trek Into Darkness, but it just makes me hungry for more and more. We have a new clip with new footage, a TV spot, a first look at a new-to-us Federation ship, and international posters.
“How can we tell they’re international posters?” you ask. Well, one, we are told they are; two, they say “cinemas” instead of “theatres”; and three, THE PREMIERE DATE. MAY 9. AAARGH WHY DO THEY GET IT SO EARLY? WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MAY 15 OR 17? In fact, the movie had its world premiere in Australia LAST NIGHT. NOT EVEN IN MAY. JUST. SO. WRONG.
Here’s a pic from that premiere, with J.J. Abrams surrounded by tall attractive men in front of a cool backdrop:
Yes, in fact that is Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Karl Urban. All right, I have now moved past my irritation at the premiere date issue, so on to the new clip:

Here’s a new TV spot that looks strikingly similar to all the others, but I will take every new frame offered:

If you go to the Star Trek Movie Facebook page, then open your Star Trek app (if you still don’t have the free app, you can download it here) and hold up your phone to the Facebook page, you will unlock this picture of the U.S.S. Vengeance – ooo, catchy name there:
And finally, here are those international character posters, similar to the character posters we showed you last week, but again, with the irritating date (sorry, still just slightly cranky about that):
Although I already have my May 15 IMAX Fan Sneak ticket, I would not have a problem with The Powers That Be arranging Star Trek Into Darkness as a double feature with Iron Man 3 and jump on that May 3 premiere date. Just saying.
Star Trek Into Darkness, starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Bruce Greenwood, and Alice Eve, is slated to hit theaters on May 17, 2013 (with an early IMAX sneak peek on May 15).
