20th Century Fox has unleashed a new behind-the-scenes featurette for director Rupert Wyatt‘s forthcoming film, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The featurette focuses on the motion capture work of WETA Digital and the brilliant performances of Andy Serkis and the other mo-cap actors that are portraying apes in the film.

Synopsis:

Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes, directed by Rupert Wyatt and starring James Franco, Brian Cox, Andy Serkis, John Lithgow, Freida Pinto and Tom Felton is slated to hit theaters on August 5th, 2011.
