During San Diego Comic-Con back in July, we brought you all of the information that we could on director Ridley Scott‘s hotly anticipated forthcoming sci-fi epic, Prometheus. Admittedly, solid information on the film has been hard to come by, and with the ultra-leaky sets of The Dark Knight Rises, and Man of Steel, I’m thankful that someone is keeping their film more tightly under wraps.
We do have one small bit of new information to pass your way, via the Prometheus Facebook page. 20th Century Fox has recently updated the film’s synopsis. While it doesn’t give the “big picture” of the film, it does give us an idea of the direction they’re heading. Check it out below!
“Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
Prometheus starring Noomi Rapace, Logan Marshall-Green, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Guy Pearce, Patrick Wilson and Kate Dickie is slated to hit theaters on June 8th, 2012.
