While a new Judge Dredd movie has been in the works for quite some time now, we really didn’t have much info on it other than some snippets of concept art.

Now we’ve found out that screenwriter Alex Garland is the guy writing the film, he worked with director Danny Boyle on 28 Days Later and Judge Dredd is  being developed up Danny Boyle’s DNA Films.

The news broke from artist Mark Simpson’s twitter, who both worked on the comics and the concept art for the new incarnation of Judge Dredd. He said:

“Working through script visuals for Judge Dredd movie. Alex Garland writes a great script.”
