First up, info was released by Atlantic Records that James Horner’s score for AVATAR will be hitting CD shelves (and we assume iTunes) on December 15th. In addition to the soundtrack filled with Horner’s score, it will also be include an original song, “I See You,” performed by Leona Lewis and a companion music video “I See You” is currently in production.
If you don’t who Leona Lewis is, she is a multi-platinum, three-time Grammy nominated R&B singer songwriter. The song is also being co-produced by Horner and Simon Franglen, both of whom worked on TITANIC’s Academy Award winning song, “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion.
In other Avatar news, USA Today has premiered a new photo from James Cameron’s upcoming Avatar. The photo shows the character of Neytiri, played by Zoe Saldana (Star Trek). You can view the photo below:
In a recent interview with composer James Horner, where he talked about his work on the score, he also confirmed a 3 hour run time. Because Cameron himself has not said the film is finished this, the running time may change by release day.
They have also released this clip from Avatar, with Jake, in his avatar body, running from a Pandoran creature called the Thenator. This footage was included in the free Avatar Day preview.
