Yesterday was the premiere night for Season 7 of Doctor Who – NOT for everyone, but just for invitees, in London, by the British Film Institute. Frustrating that we couldn’t ALL go, but at least we were given some new information in honor of the screening, and some pictures to share.
First up is this great poster, a view of our intrepid three reflected in the lens of … a Dalek! It’s done in movie poster style, because showrunner Steven Moffat has said that every new episode will be like a blockbuster movie. According to Anglophenia, there will be one of this type of poster for each of the 5 new regular episodes of fall 2012.
So very cool. And here’s another new poster from the first episode, a promotional shot with all three of our gang, and look, Amy is conscious this time!
Next is a TARDIS full of new Season 7 screenshots – one or two may look familiar, but there are slight differences – from the first five episodes, or at least from a few of them; we won’t know for sure until we FINALLY get to see the actual episodes. Please forgive the rant, and enjoy these lovely pics:
Rumor has it that the broadcast premiere date was announced at the yesterday’s event, and that it will be September 1 on the BBC. If BBC America follows its pattern over the last year or so, we should be getting it here on the September 1 as well. We’re waiting for official confirmation of the news and will post it when it becomes available.
Doctor Who Season 7, starring Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, and Jenna-Louise Coleman, MIGHT BE premiering on Saturday, September 1 on BBC and BBC America.
