New Cast and Details for Barry Levinson’s Sci-Fi Thriller THE BAY

Earlier this month we brought you the news that Barry Levinson‘s (Brother Jack) indie sci-fi thriller entitled Isopod underwent a title change and is now known as The Bay. The film will be produced Paranormal Activity producers Oren Peli, Jason Blum and Steven Schneider.

Now, Bloody-Disgusting reports that virtual unknowns Will Rogers (Happy New Year), Kether Donohue (Altered States of Plaine), Steven Kunken (Law & Order), Frank Deal (Fringe), Kristin Connelly (Bicentennial Man) and Christopher Denham (Shutter Island) have joined the cast.

They have also picked up some new details on the film which is currently being shot in South Carolina –

“On the 4th of July in 2011, an unprecedented biological disaster is unleashed from the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. An isopod parasite, carrying untreatable, mutated diseases, jumps from fish to human host and replaces them with itself. Seven years later, the true horror and scope of the event, captured mainly on home videos by the town’s now long-dead victims, is revealed to the public for the first time.”

The Bay is slated to hit theaters in 2011.
