NBC has ordered a pilot of “The Cape”, a comic book-inspired show, featuring a masked superhero.  If picked up, the hour-long show could serve as a replacement for “Heroes” whose fate is uncertain. “The Cape” is “a light drama with a comic book sensibility”. The show is set in a fictional city of angels, following a former cop, who after being framed for a crime, becomes a masked superhero called the Cape, fighting to clear his name and reunite with his son.

“The Cape” is written by mini-series, “Empire” creator Tom Wheeler and backed by UMS and BermanBraun.
