Intrepid Whovians have been at it again in Wales, tracking the latest Season 7 location shoots for Doctor Who. This time they were able to catch the elusive guest stars, and they will look familiar to anyone who watched Season 6, especially if they remember the epic “A Good Man Goes to War.”
DoctorWhoTV is reporting that these photos were taken during the shoot for episode 9 written by Mark Gatiss (rumored title, “The Crimson Horror”). While they are also reporting that the characters below are the Sontoran Strax played by Dan Starkey and Neve McIntosh reprising her role as Madame Vastra, there has been no official confirmation that these familiar-looking actors in their familiar-looking makeup are actually playing the same characters we have seen them play before.
So, what do you think? Has the Doctor gone back in time to visit his friends’ ancestors? Or did his friends travel back with him? Or is this a case of these actors playing different aliens, as they have done in the past?
We’ll keep you posted about that, and about a Season 7 premiere date, which will hopefully be announced during the Doctor Who panel at Comic-Con this Sunday.
Doctor Who Season 7, starring Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, and Jenna-Louise Coleman, is expected to premiere in August 2012 on BBC and BBC America.
