HAVEN RENEWED FOR SEASON TWO

Syfy’s Supernatural Drama Series From Entertainment One Returns in 2011

Series is Co-commissioned by Canwest in Canada

And Globally Via Universal Networks International (UNI)

Haven, Syfy’s original series from leading independent producer Entertainment One (eOne), has been renewed for season two.  The 13-episode season will commence production on location in Nova Scotia in Spring 2011 with an eye towards a Summer 2011 premiere.

Haven, starring Emily Rose, is based on The Colorado Kid from renowned author Stephen King.  The series follows FBI agent Audrey Parker (Rose), who takes up residence in the small town of Haven, Maine and soon discovers the town’s many secrets.  A longtime refuge for people with an eclectic range of supernatural abilities, Haven also holds the key to unlocking the mysteries of Audrey’s lost past.  Among the townspeople are local cop Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant) and the mysterious and charming Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour).

The creative team behind Haven includes showrunner Scott Shepherd (Tru Calling, The Dead Zone) as well as his partners, executive producers Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller (The Dead Zone, Wildfire, Greek) who are joined by eOne’s John Morayniss (Hung, Rookie Blue) Noreen Halpern (Hung, Rookie Blue) and Laszlo Barna (The Bridge, Call Me Fitz).  The pilot was written by Sam Ernst & Jim Dunn (The Dead Zone) who also serve as executive producers on the series.

Haven is produced by Entertainment One in association with Piller, Segan and Shepherd and was the first property to be produced for Syfy globally: in the US with Syfy and globally through Universal Networks International (UNI), and Canwest in Canada.  Haven premiered on Syfy in the US on July 9, 2010 and will conclude its first season this Friday, October 8 @ 10pm.  It debuted on Canwest specialty channel Showcase in Canada on July 12, 2010 and has its global first run pay-TV window on UNI (excluding Canada and Scandinavia).  Universal Networks International will continue its global launch of Haven during October, rolling out Season One on Syfy Universal’s 19 global channels throughout the month.

Entertainment One controls the worldwide distribution rights to the one-hour series and concluded a deal with Germany’s Tele München Group (TMG) for the free television rights in Continental Europe.

Since debuting this summer on Syfy, Haven has scored a 1.9 Household rating and 2.6 million total viewers, including over 1.2 million Adults 25-54 and 989,000 Adults 18-49.  These numbers are double the timeslot average from 3Q09 (+100% in HH rating, +111% in P2+).  In addition, Haven held 82% of the viewers from its Eureka lead-in.  (Note: all ratings data reflects final averaged Live + 7 DVR data for episodes that aired through 9/19/2010.)

In Canada, Haven ranks as one of the top five series for Showcase in Adults 25-54.
