We have had a really great influx of awesome casting news these last few days for Guardians of the Galaxy, with the most recent being Glenn Close and Karen Gillan joining Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Zoe Saldana and Lee Pace. The momentum continues with the latest casting announcement.

Benicio Del Toro (Sin City and The Usual Suspects) has joined the cast in an undefined role according to Deadline, and though the role is a mystery it promises to be a leading role with the possibility of reappearance in multiple movies should Guardians of the Galaxy dazzle audiences. It sure is shaping up to do just that.

Guardians of the Galaxy directed by James Gunn and starring Benicio Del Toro, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Zoe Saldana and Lee Pace is slated to hit theaters August 1st, 2014.
