Montana Couple Builds Hobbit House Getaway, Bilbo Would Be Proud

Ever wish you could experience what it’s like to live in a hole in the ground? And I don’t mean a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: I mean a hobbit-hole, which means comfort? Steve and Christine Michaels have wondered that same thing and built a getaway where you can experience hobbit living for yourself.

The Hobbit House sits on several secluded acres of the Shire Montana hillside and merges rustic fantasy living with all the comforts of the modern world with features like a modern king-size bedroom, designer kitchen with custom granite counters, HD Blu-Ray television, XM Radio, and WiFi. Guest can book a magical getaway there for $245 a night.
