inside out

The emotions of 12-year-old Riley are the main characters of a new and imaginative film from Pixar and director Pete Docter (UP). Inside Out was one of the many films featured at Disney’s D23 Expo this past weekend, and while we’ve reported on a little of the plot before, D23 revealed a little more plus, the concept art above and the actors voicing the many emotions.

The Inside Out emotions will be played by great comedic actors, Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader and Phyliss Smith. Here’s a synopsis and a  bit about the characters, via EW:

Riley, the once happy-go-lucky pre-teen is uprooted from her pleasant life in Minnesota and thrust into a new, unwelcome existence in San Francisco. That’s when the emotions take over, much to the chagrin of her baffled parents. Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), Fear (Bill Hader), Sadness (The Office‘s Phyliss Smith) and Joy (Amy Poehler) spar, collaborate, and miscommunicate with one another in an attempt to keep her functioning.

We’ll keep you posted on Inside Out directed by Pete Docter and starring Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, and Phyliss Smith which is slated to hit theaters Summer 2015.
