May The Fourth Be With You… Always!

It’s May the 4th! Happy Star Wars Day and May the Fourth be with you! While Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope was actually released in theaters on May 25th, 1977, due to the clever (force/fourth) pun, May the 4th has become known among fans as Star Wars Day. Being the Star Wars fan that I am, I think it should become an official national holiday.

To commemorate Star Wars Day, Lucasfilm is counting down to 9am EST (6am Pacific) on maythe4th.starwars.com to an as-yet unannounced event. We are assuming that they will be unleashing details on the Blu-ray packages that will be released in September that we’ve previously reported on. All we have received from Lucasfilm was the cryptic postcard below.

Check out that link above after the appropriate time in your neck of the woods and see for yourself, or we’ll bring you all the details very soon!
