Max Landis Reveals How His FRANKENSTEIN Script Evolved From The Hunt For Igor

Fox’s untitled Frankenstein film is gaining momentum, especially with the news earlier this month that director Shawn Levy (Real Steel, Night at the Museum) would helm the project. But how is this version of the classic Mary Shelley tale going to be different from the various other Frankenstein projects in development right now?

Writer Max Landis (Chronicle) will tell you how in this interview he gave on the red carpet of Chillerama in Hollywood. Landis revealed how his “sci-fi take on the traditional Mary Shelley story” evolved from the hunt for Igor and discovering the anatomy of the Frankenstein mythology as it evolved over time. Check out Landis’ interview with ShockTillYouDrop below:

So, it will indeed be a period piece told from Igor’s perspective and be a seemingly brilliant re-contextualization of all the disparate elements of the Frankenstein story. Landis has done his homework for sure. One can only hope that his take will be compelling enough to be taken in by fans and embraced as part of the greater Frankenstein mythology.
