First, congratulations to Matt Smith and Karen Gillan on their National TV Awards 2012 for Drama Performance Male – Doctor Who, and Drama Performance Female – Doctor Who. The awards were presented last night in London, and are roughly equivalent to the People’s Choice Awards here in the U.S.

After the awards, Matt Smith spoke with reporters backstage, and had some interesting things to say about his tenure on the show. If you don’t already know the major spoiler that we revealed here, congratulations, as it’s almost impossible to avoid if you read anything about Doctor Who and I don’t know how you’ll avoid it all the way until next fall. Ever since this interview, the internet has been all abuzz about the next season being Matt Smith‘s last, but that isn’t necessarily what he meant. I guess, sigh, we’ll just have to wait and see.
