Marvel Slows Production On RUNAWAYS Big-Screen Adaptation To a Crawl

Just a few weeks ago, we heard that Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee, True Jackson, VP) had reportedly received a request to join the cast of Marvel Studios‘ upcoming big-screen adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan (Lost) and Adrian Alphona‘s Marvel comic book series, Runaways which is being directed by Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist).

Now, Deadline reports that Marvel Studios has halted production on Runaways because they simply have too much going on at the moment and will take their time on the live action adaptation of the Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona comic book series. Bleeding Cool says that the production is now on the calendar for 2012, which will likely mean a 2013 release.
