Marvel and Electric Shepherd have announced a comic book adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s Electric Ant. The short story will be adapted by writer David Mack (Kabuki, Daredevil) and artist Pascal Alixe (Ultimate X-Men), with cover art from Paul Pope (Heavy Liquid).

The legendary sci-fi author’s existential thriller features a man who suffers a car accident only to discover that he is a robotic ‘electric ant’.

Marvel’s editor-in-chief Joe Quesada says,

“Philip K. Dick is one of the most groundbreaking sci-fi authors ever and we’re honored to bring his stories to life at Marvel, Electric Ant is an extraordinary interpretation of Philip K. Dick’s classic short story, one that I’m sure all fans will enjoy.”

Electric Shepherd is the production arm of Dick’s estate.

Philip K. Dick’s Electric Ant #1 will be released in April.
