Production on George Miller‘s new movie, Mad Max: Fury Road starring, Nicholas Hoult, Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Zoe Kravitz, Teresa Palmer, Adelaide Clemens and Riley Keough has been shut down. Filming is now scheduled to begin in February 2012, on location in the Broken Hill region of Australia.
The Australian is reporting that crew were told not to expect to return for pre-production until August or November next year.
From The Australian:
“The delay has left many major film crew members without work amid fears the high Australian dollar could ultimately kill the film as its budget grows.”
Mad Max: Fury Road is slated to hit theaters in 2011.
The film has already been delayed once before. Back in July, unseasonal rains had made the Broken Hill area too fertile and production was put back to later this year.
