Louis Leterrier On The Short List To Assemble THE AVENGERS

Director of Warner Bros. upcoming Clash of the Titans remake, Louis Leterrier has revealed he’s on the short-list to direct the upcoming Marvel movie The Avengers. Marvel heroes are nothing new to Leterrier, having directed 2008’s The Incredible Hulk starring Edward Norton. Iron Man & Iron Man 2 director, Jon Favreau has already said that he won’t direct The Avengers, but will be an executive producer on the project.

Leterrier told AICN,

“I am on the shortlist, but I’m at the bottom, I’m sure.

“I don’t know who the other guys are, but I have a great relationship with [Marvel], and I’ve been very vocal to them and everyone else that I am the one to direct it. I loved my time at Marvel. I loved those guys. They’re fantastic.”

“[Marvel Studios] president of production Kevin [Feige] is such a passionate boss; he gets his hands dirty.

“It’s a universe I want to keep exploring. I was frustrated with The Incredible Hulk. It was like, ‘That’s it? Only one superhero? Can I do more?’ We’ll see. Time will tell.”

[The Shakedown]

I’m still pissed Favreau has already bailed on The Avengers, though I am happy that he will be involved in some capacity. I’m really not sure what I think of Leterrier taking on the behemoth that will be The Avengers, something tells me that just as it’s a multi-hero film that maybe it should be a multi-director film.
