LOST Will Not Spin-Off To A Movie, But Will Continue On DVD

There will not be a movie version of “Lost”, but a source at ABC has confirmed that the story will continue in DVD form with the release of season six on DVD, slated for release on August 24th. Supposedly, there will be up to twenty minutes of additional footage to the end of the series.

Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are not saying any more about the show. After the finale, Lindelof tweeted:

“Remember. Let go. Move on. I will miss it more than I can ever say.”

The source says that the extra footage is in production now and adds that:

“Damon and Carlton wanted to offer fans answers to additional questions they couldn’t get to in the body of the final show.”

The DVD and Blu-Ray sounds like it will reward loyal “Lost” fans. The packaging is said to be “spectacular”.

Cuse and Lindelof will not be creating another series along the same lines as “Lost”. Lindelof addresses how “Lost” was unique:

“The thing that made Lost Lost was the idea of doing something different and unique and the idea was special and unexpected. We could never even try to replicate this thing. We would both die happy if Lost is the greatest television achievement of either of our careers. I hope we work together again, but who knows what it’ll be.”
