Gandalf once said in passing, “With his far reaching right hand Sauron might have done great evil in the North. Yet all that has been averted because a handful of heroes stood in his path.” We know the story of the War of the Ring as it happens in the south. But every time I read The Lord of the Rings I always wonder what went down in the northen continent of Middle Earth that we never even got to hear about.

It looks like later this year, I’ll get to find out.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the North is a co-opt action RPG from WB Games and Snowblind Studios that tells the story of the unsung heroes of The War of the Ring. As the armies of Mordor and Isengard march on Minas Tirith and Rohan, the Black Numenoreans of the broken North rise to meet them. Only a small band of heroes (you and your friends) stand in their way.
