Location Shooting for THE WOLVERINE Will Take Place In Japan

Just a few days ago, we brought you the news about 20th Century Fox setting production of the James Mangold directed film, The Wolverine in lead actor, Hugh Jackman’s hometown of Sydney Australia, with most of the film’s post-production done in the U.S., assisted by Australia-based companies.

While speaking with MTV, 20th Century Fox president Tom Rothman has clarified that the location shooting will indeed take place in Japan:

“We’re doing the stage work in Australia. The location work will be in Japan. It’s set in Japan. A great number of Japanese actors will be in it and it’s based on the very famous run of the comics.”

Rothman also commented on Jackman‘s commitment to the film:

“The script is excellent, and Hugh Jackman is committed. He’s very, very determined, and feels very personally committed to the fans. I can just tell you on behalf of him, his goal is to make the ultimate, bad ass, berserker rage Wolverine.”

The Wolverine is slated to hit theaters on July 26th, 2013.
