Oh Minecraft, I know thee well. I resisted your pull up until my youngest asked me to build her a castle and I was hooked. You see, Minecraft is a game (for the three of you who may not know) where you’re dropped into a world and you build things with various types of blocks. There are multiple ways you can play the game and you could encounter friends (networked players) or foes that could do you harm. This widely popular game is about to get the movie adaptation treatment from Warner Bros.
According to Deadline, Mojang AB has sold the rights to Warner Bros. for a live action movie from The LEGO Movie producer, Roy Lee, and producer, Jill Messick (Mean Girls). I cannot actually picture what a live action Minecraft would look like when its major feature is that of blocks, but I’m willing to stay positive.
We’ll be sure and keep you posted on the latest for the Minecraft movie from Warner Bros. In the mean time, if you’d like to learn more about the Minecraft phenomenon, there’s an excellent documentary available. You can check that out in full here.
