Lionsgate Taps Charlie Kaufman to Adapt CHAOS WALKING

Last October, we brought you news that Lionsgate had obtained the worldwide rights to develop, produce and distribute a film adaptation of Patrick Ness’ Carnagie Medal winning young adult novel trilogy, Chaos Walking. The studio is hoping for Hunger Games type success with this potential franchise.

Deadline reports that Lionsgate has tapped Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich) to adapt the first novel of the series, The Knife of Never Letting Go. The Chaos Walking trilogy presents a futuristic world where an infection makes every thought an audible utterance and privacy absolutely non-existent and follows the story of a boy who holds the key to salvation. Considering Kaufman’s experience with head-tripping storylines, this seems like a good fit.
