Yesterday, we confirmed that Philip Seymour Hoffman (The Master, Mission: Impossible III) would indeed play the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Lionsgate has just made an exciting announcement about adapting the third book of Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games trilogy.

According to Deadline, Lionsgate is splitting Mockingjay into two parts, capitalizing on the holiday seasons of 2014 and 2015. Mockingjay: Part 1 will be released on November 21, 2014 and Part 2 on November 20, 2015.

The second film of The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, is slated to hit theaters on November 22, 2013.
