Over the last few weeks, we’ve brought you some rather boring pictures of photos of Rihanna and Taylor Kitsch (John Carter of Mars) on the set of Universal Pictures‘ upcoming high-seas alien invasion film, Battleship.

Now, we have some good casting news via Variety. Liam Neeson (The A-Team) has joined the cast of the Peter Berg (Hancock) directed Sci-Fi flick and will portray Admiral Shane, the father of Brooklyn Decker‘s (Chuck, Just Go with It) character, and future father-in-law of Taylor Kitsch‘s (John Carter of Mars) character.

Battleship is slated to anchor at theaters on May 25, 2012.
