Katie Cassidy Joins Eliza Dushku and Michelle Trachtenberg for THE SCRIBBLER

Which identity is the real you? For Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku, this concept is all too familiar. Dushku joins fellow Buffy veteran Michelle Trachtenberg on the cast of the big screen adaptation of the comic book, The Scribbler, published by Image Comics and written by Daniel Schaffer.

Deadline reports that Katie Cassidy (Supernatural, Taken) , picture center above, has signed on to topline in the film about “Suki, a young woman confronting her destructive mental illness using “The Siamese Burn,” an experimental machine designed to eliminate multiple personalities. The closer Suki comes to being “cured,” she’s haunted by a thought… what if the last unwanted identity turns out to be her?”

THE SCRIBBLER is the first of four films in a co-production between New Artist Alliance, an Encino, Calif.-based production company specializing inlow-budget films, and management / production firm Caliber Media. Caliber reps Cowan and Suits as director clients.

The two companies have previously produced two movies together, which are both currently in post-production: Static, a horror-thriller starring Milo Ventimiglia, Sarah Shahi and Sara Paxton, and 3 Nights in the Desert, starring Amber Tamblyn, Wes Bentley and Vincent Piazza, which Cowan directed.

NAA, known for making over 2000% profit on their first film Breathing Room, premiered their latest feature Extracted at this year’s SXSW. Growth, another NAA film directed by Cowan, went to #1 on iTunes and has its worldwide television premiere this weekend on Syfy.

Caliber is in post-production on Dark Was the Night, a horror film starring Kevin Durand, Lukas Haas and Bianca Kajlich, directed by Heller, and Refuge, a drama starring Krysten Ritter and Brian Geraghty, directed by Jessica Goldberg.
