It’s not surprising that the CW’s most popular episode of “Smallville” this season was the “Absolute Justice” television event. Well, guess what? Comic book writer Geoff Johns has announced that the JSA will be returning to “Smallville” later this season. Johns expounds on the subject:
“[The JSA] do appear again at the end of season on ‘Smallville.’ The hope is for every DC character to appear outside the comic books. Correctly.”
Michael Shanks (“Stargate: SG-1”) who played Hawkman in “Absolute Justice” talked about his character’s role in Clark’s life:
“Clark and his friends are figuring out what their destinies will be, so there is a ripe opportunity for the Justice Society who had been there done that to offer some tough love teaching. The way things land at the end of it all, there’s an open door for Carter Hall to be revisited and possibly be part of further mentoring Clark down the road.”
Johns has also implied that “the forces of Apokolips may soon be appearing on ‘Smallville’, which could potentially pave the way for Darkseid to appear in the tenth season”.
What do you think? Will the JSA play a larger role in next fall’s tenth season of “Smallville”?
