Joss Whedon is writing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer one-shot for Dark Horse Comics.

The 40-page Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow – penned by the Buffy and Dollhouse creator – will focus on the fate of Buffy’s best friend, the powerful and troubled witch Willow.

The comic will be pencilled by Karl Moline, who was co-creator on Whedon’s comic Fray.

The comic is one of a series of one-shots Dark Horse is planning for December, including Hellboy: The Bride of Hell, Conan the Cimmerian: The Weight of the Crown and an Empowered one-shot.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow is released on December 23.
