Joseph Gatt Joins the Cast of Director J.J. Abrams’ STAR TREK Sequel

Just yesterday, we brought you the news that Canadian actress Nazneen Contractor (24, The Blood of Pegasus) had beamed aboard the cast of director J.J. Abrams‘ hotly anticipated, and as yet Untitled Star Trek Sequel, portraying the wife of previously cast Noel Clarke (Doctor Who), who is portraying “a family man with a wife and young daughter“.

Now, ScreenRant reports that Joseph Gatt has joined the cast. Gatt recently portrayed Frost Giant Grundroth in director Kenneth Branagh’s big-screen adaptation of Thor, played Agent Hawk on the NBC series Chuck, was to portray John O’Quinn in the now-dead TV adaptation of Wonder Woman and voiced Lord Scourge in LucasArts recently released video game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

So far there’s no word on the exact role Gatt will play in the follow-up to Abrams’ 2009 blockbuster, but there is speculation that he may be the henchman of the main villain portrayed by the newly cast Benedict Cumberbatch.

The as yet Untitled Star Trek Sequel is slated to hit theaters on May 17th, 2013.
