Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub Lend Their Voices To TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Movie

We reported last March that Pete Ploszek (Parks and Recreation) would play the part of Leonardo for the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and that Danny Woodburn (Mirror, Mirror) was on to play Master Splinter, the sensei to the four turtles. Even though we’ve already seen a teaser for the Michael Bay-produced flick, two new actors have been brought on to voice these roles.

According to Deadline, these roles were guaranteed in physical form only, and that there was always an option that another might be brought in for voiceover work. Johnny Knoxville, whose sci-fi credits include MiB 2 but he’s most noted for Jackass, will be lending his voice to the role of Leonardo.

He’s reuniting with Tony Shalhoub who also played in MiB 2, but we’re also familiar with his more recent voiceover work as Luigi in the Cars movies for Pixar. He will be voicing the role of Splinter.

I am speculating that maybe Noel Fisher’s voice isn’t one that will go up on the chopping block, since we’ve already seen Michelangelo speak in the teaser, but I suppose anything is possible. Here’s that teaser, to refresh your memory.
