James Wan To Direct Big-Screen Adaptation Of Platinum’s NIGHTFALL

Last November, we told you that Aurora Productions and Platinum Studios had joined forces on a feature film adaptation of Platinum’s graphic novel Nightfall, penned by Scott O. Brown and illustrated by Ferran Xalabarder.

Now, Deadline reports that James Wan (Saw, Insidious, Castlevania) has signed on to direct the big-screen adaptation of Nightfall and will also oversee the development of the film’s script.

Wan said,

“The minute I heard the concept, I was in,” James Wan said. “Reading the graphic novel cemented that. Like Saw, it’s a simple concept that, if executed properly, will be so cool.”

Brown’s graphic novel Nightfall was inspired by Joss Whedon’s Buffy and Angel television shows, and tells the story of industrious, right-wing survivalist David Paxton, who is sent to a tough Texas prison, that is run by vampires.
