Jackie Earle Haley Talks About His Role On HUMAN TARGET And The Comic Book

The preview for Fox’s television adaptation of the DC Comic “Human Target” airs tonight, so to prep you for it, let Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach in “Watchmen”) introduce you to his character, Guerrero.  Haley’s character isn’t actually in the original story of the comic book, but he explains how his character is important for the show:

“Guerrero’s not in the comic book, but he’s this really cool supporting character to Chance.  He’s the go-to guy for information, so he’s got some corporate expertise, but there’s something a little unhinged about him, too. There’s kind of a dangerous quality to this guy that we’re going to be examining.”

“We’re still kind of developing him. There are so many directions to go with him.  Chance is the hand-to-hand combat guy, but I think we’re going to discover that Guerrero is dangerous in a different kind of way.”

When Haley joined the cast back in March of 2009, he was hot off the success of “Watchmen” and news of his casting as Freddy Krueger in an upcoming “Nightmare On Elm Street”.  What drew him to the small screen?

“It’s going to be neat getting in there over a period of a year or two — hopefully more.  Developing a character for that period of time, I’ve never done that. That should be cool.”
