About a week ago we brought you a report about a secret project that J.J Abrams and Steven Spielberg were working on which would “deal with everyday people whose personal relationships are tested when they are thrown up against extraordinarily fantastic and possibly other-worldly events.”
Then we were made aware of a trailer for a J.J. Abrams project entitled Super 8 that would be attached to prints of Iron Man 2. Some speculated that Super 8 was just a working title for a prequel to Abrams’ Cloverfield, which Abrams outright denied.
The trailer did officially debut at midnight in front of Iron Man 2 and I was lucky enough to see it on the big screen. The trailer definitely has touches of the bygone era of Spielberg’s Amblin classics, along with the J.J. Abrams mystery that we’ve grown to love. They have also launched the official Super 8 website, right now it features nothing more than a flickering cracked lens.

Bootleg Teaser Trailer: Super 8
The intrepid folks over at unfiction forums figured out that there are some letters flashing through the Super 8 lens during the trailer and have decoded it. It apparently says “Scariest Thing I Ever Saw”.
So, upon punching in www.scariestthingieversaw.com we get a terminal to a PDP-11 Computer. The new Super 8 News blog is following the viral closely and they’ve discovered some some cool stuff hidden in that computer. They have found some text that gets printed saying: “Stop posting publicly. I can answer your questions. I have proof.” and a type of countdown that by their calculations should end around 12:00pm on May 15th.
