Holy moly, did you see last week’s “Dollhouse”? The Joss Whedon-Fox show is still cancelled, but it’s getting better with each episode. One of the big OMG moments of last week’s episodes was Amy Acker’s character Dr. Saunders/Whiskey shooting Summer Glau’s character Bennett in the head. In the head!! Acker is set for her new series “Happy Town” for ABC, but she gives us a little clue about her character on “Dollhouse”.
Acker will appear again on “Dollhouse” before it bows out in two episodes. Some fan speculation is that Acker’s character is the other head of Rossum. Acker has this to say about that:
“There will be a connection, but it’s not Claire. Does that make sense? Is that giving away too much? Yeah, I definitely have something to do with Rossum in the next one.”
Acker recalls her involvement with “Dollhouse” and how exciting her role has become:
“When the whole thing started, I had been begging Joss since I heard he was doing it. We’d be hanging out, and I’d be like, ‘I wish I could be on your show.’ It seemed like the day before they started shooting he was like, ‘Actually, there’s this part. She was supposed to be a 55-year-old woman, and I’m thinking maybe that you should do it.’ I was like, ‘Really? OK, great, I’ll be there.’ So I didn’t know if it was just going to be on the pilot or anything. I had no idea that I was going to end up being a doll, and all of this stuff unfolded. Then, of course, you hear about different stuff. There were talks. Like one time, he’s like, ‘Maybe you’re actually Caroline,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, that would be awesome.’ But that didn’t happen.”
Watch the final two eps of “Dollhouse”- tonight and the series finale next Friday on Fox at 9/8 C.
