Is Jurassic Park 4 Secretly Shooting At Universal Studios?

Approximately one year ago, director Joe Johnston (Jurassic Park III, Captain America: The First Avenger) who is currently in post production on Captain America, talked about his plans for a fourth Jurassic Park film. The director said that there was a great story planned for a fourth outing that was nothing like the first three that takes the franchise off in a completely new direction.

The director said,

“it likely won’t be another storyline about a group of people struggling to survive a dinosaur attack.

“We’ve done that and it’s been done three times…”

“Why would anybody go back to that island? It was hard enough to figure out the second and third reason for them to go, but it would take it off in a whole other trilogy basically, but when it gets to that level it’s sort of about studios and Steven [Spielberg’s] thing and who knows. I think we are at that point where we are due for another one if we are going to do it.”

Now, thanks to the guys over at ThemeParkAdventure who took a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood, we may have some fresh news on the project. All due to a quick glance at the shooting schedule (image below), they noticed that Jurassic Park 4 was supposedly set-up on stages “7, 10, 12, 14”.

The guys also snapped some shots of a cordoned off section of the Backlot that has been turned into a huge blue screen set that a Universal employee told them was for a “top-secret huge blockbuster“.

When contacted by MovieWeb, Universal denied production on Jurassic Park IV and said that they “have no idea why that is on there.”

Was the movie title listed on the shooting schedule a joke by an employee? Has Universal started (at least) pre-production on Jurassic Park 4 and managed to keep it under wraps? Obviously we don’t know for sure but, we’re all for another installment… as long as it doesn’t “nuke the fridge”.
