The digital ink on our story about Joss Whedon reworking Zak Penn‘s script for THE AVENGERS hasn’t even dried yet and it’s already being reported that Whedon is in talks to rewrite the script for the Joe Johnston directed, Marvel film – The First Avenger: Captain America as well.

According to Pajiba, the Dr. Horrible creator has been tapped to polish the upcoming superhero movie’s screenplay. Paramount and Marvel Studios have yet to comment on the claims.

The First Avenger: Captain America is slated to hit theaters on July 22, 2011 and The Avengers is scheduled for a May 4, 2012 release.
