Last year, we brought you the news when writer Drew Pearce (No Heroics) had been hired by Marvel Studios to pen the big-screen adaptation of the Brian K. Vaughan (Lost) and Adrian Alphona comic book series, Runaways. We also told you when Pearce was hired again by Marvel to pen the script for the Shane Black directed, Iron Man 3.
Now, Pearce is heading into DC Comics territory. THR reports that the writer has been hired by Paramount Pictures to write the big-screen adaptation of the creator owned, Peter Tomasi and Keith Champagne comic book series, The Mighty.
The Mighty centers on a godlike and Superman-like hero and his relationship with a police officer who lands the plum job of being the man’s human handler. The relationship begins to fray when the officer begins to suspect that the hero adored the world-over is behind a series of ghastly murders.
No production or release date has been set for The Mighty.
