Internet Reports of the Death of Munsters Reboot MOCKINGBIRD LANE May Be Premature

It seemed to be everywhere this morning – word was out that Bryan Fuller‘s reboot of 60’s horror comedy classic The Munsters, Mockingbird Lane, was “not likely” to get a series order. Reworded and reported over and over again, that it was too expensive and there were too many rewrites.

But wait! Apparently most of those sites did not see this tweet from Mr. Fuller himself last night:

Yay! So, we at SciFi Mafia are clinging to hope that all is not lost with this project. Bryan Fuller helmed one of our favorite pieces of whimsical charming eye candy, Pushing Daisies, and we are big fans of his work on Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me. We’ve seen some great concept art for the Munsters reboot, and the cast, including Jerry O’Connell, Portia de Rossi, and the very cool Eddie Izzard, is set. Come on, NBC. You need this, and we need this.

Fuller’s other pilot, Hannibal, is apparently moving forward for NBC. It’s not Our Kind of Show, but we understand that it’s possible to write excellent non-SciFi Mafia-covered shows, so good luck to Mr. Fuller on that project as well.

We’ll keep you posted.
