While we’ve been inundated with rumors surrounding director Christopher Nolan‘s forthcoming, final entry in his Bat-Trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, real news is hard to come by, because when Nolan locks down his sets, he does a pretty good job of keeping everything “hush-hush” until he wants something released.
Now, multiple sources are reporting that the current Mayor of Quahog, Rhode Island on the animated series Family Guy, and the original television Batman, Adam West has been seen in Nottingham, England, close to the set of The Dark Knight Rises and rumor has it, the original caped crusader will have a cameo in Nolan’s film.
The studio has not confirmed (or denied) that West will appear, and while it’s plausible, he could just be in the area on vacation.
As a fan of the TV Batman (yeah, it’s silly, but it’s still fun) and a fan of West’s sitcom appearances as well as his epic voice-work on Family Guy, I follow his Facebook page and he posts pretty regularly about what he’s up to… though he hasn’t updated his page since June 21st when he scored his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. So, he has been busy for a few weeks!
Stay tuned to SciFi Mafia for more news (and entertaining rumors) about The Dark Knight Rises… same Bat-time, same Bat-channel website!
The Dark Knight Rises is slated to hit theaters on July 20th, 2012.
