HEROES Ratings Still Suck, But Might Get Renewed – Will Tim Kring Still Be On Board?

The fourth season finale of NBC’s “Heroes” only got 4.4 million viewers, which is hardly something to write home about (in fact it might warrant a letter for a parent-teacher conference), especially for a season closer, but at the very least, it did beat out the 4.3 million viewers for Jay Leno’s near last 10pm show. Several sources are pointing out that the disappointing ratings may not factor as strongly into whether the show gets renewed or not.

As it stands, “Heroes” has seventy-seven episodes to its name, which is one season away from the one hundred episodes that will bring in the syndication bucks. The show also does well in other countries as well as export sales.

NBC seems to still back the show- Network President of Primetime Entertainment, Angela Bromstad had stated recently that:

“Heroes is a show that we obviously really love.”

If the show is indeed renewed, will show creator Tim Kring still be onboard? Production Weekly reported that Kring is working on a new show for NBC, called “III”. Could be that he’s got the reins on both shows for the Peacock network.

Here’s the 140 from Production Weekly on the subject:

Tim Kring & Aron Eli Coleite developing a drama titled “III” at NBC, revolving around a WWIII scenario in which the U.S. is invaded.”

Keep it here on SciFiMafia for whether or not “Heroes” is saved from the ax!
