HBO Apologizes For Overzealous TRUE BLOOD Marketing

HBO’s “True Blood” is one of the most anticipated shows this summer. It made its third season premiere this past Sunday, but HBO seems to feel like it needs to apologize for the network’s overzealous marketing strategies in promoting the season premiere. Check out this video apology from HBO.

HBO: An Apology for True Blood

[The Shakedown]

This hilarious video aside, HBO has done a great job in promoting the return of “True Blood” this summer. Between their poster series (one released every week leading up to the premiere date), the “Drop of True Blood” web mini-sodes, and the Ultimate Fan Experience, I’d have to say that HBO has been incredibly successful in keeping “True Blood” in the minds of their viewers and drumming up a feverish level of anticipation for the premiere.

In case you missed it, here are the links to the mini-sodes:

Jessica Mini-sode, Sookie/Lafayette/Tara Mini-sode, Sam Mini-sode, Bill Mini-sode, and Jason Mini-sode

Don’t miss the new “True Blood” wallpapers here!

The poster series began with this release. Subsequent posters are posted within articles on the season premiere. They can be found by search of the tag “True Blood” on SciFi Mafia. There are twelve posters in total for this series.

“True Blood” airs on HBO, Sundays at 9/8C.
