14-year-old Academy Award nominee, Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) has signed on to star in the big-screen adaptation of Cat Patrick‘s debut young adult science fiction novel, Forgotten. The book was released in June, and tells the story of a 16-year-old who has her memory erased at exactly 4:33 each morning. All she can remember are events from her future.
THR reports that screenwriter Oren Uziel who is currently penning New Line Cinema’s reboot of Mortal Kombat has been hired by Paramount Pictures to adapt Patrick’s novel, and the project will be produced by Josh Schwartz (Chuck) and Stephanie Savage (Fun Size).
