Guess Which Guests Promote to Semi Permanent for THE WALKING DEAD Season 4

With the understanding that some of our beloved readers may not have had time to watch Sunday’s Season 3 finale of The Walking Dead, you’ll note that no names or faces graced the headline or top photo. Not knowing who might die is part of the fun horror of The Walking Dead. Proceed no further until you’ve seen that season finale.

Okay, now – wasn’t that great? I loved what Norman Reedus said about the writers, that they like to change things up so that every finale is different. We weren’t left with any big cliffhangers at the end of Season 3 like we were at the end of Season 2, but it was a nice change of pace that they didn’t. There was of course one major death from Our Gang, which, when added to the other two (or three, if you include Merle) we lost earlier, means the loss of three (or four) main cast members by the end of the season.

Never fear, however, as four familiar actors are poised to become major, regular, semi-permanent (no one is a permanent member of the roster) members of the cast, when it returns for Season 4 in the fall, according to THR. Not surprisingly, one of them is the Governor, David Morrissey (feel free to boo and hiss here). I find it somewhat chilling that neither of his road trip buddies made this list.

On the side of good, however, are three terrific characters who I’ll be happy to see with the upgraded status: Tyreese (Chad Coleman), Sasha  (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Hershel’s younger, blonde daughter Beth (Emily Kinney). Two reluctant Woodbury-dwellers and one prison-er whom I thought was already considered a regular cast member, but whom upon reflection mostly was there to sing and take care of the baby (though she did have one righteous walker kill during the finale).

We’ll apparently also be seeing, as a recurring guest, lone survivor of the Governor’s purge, totally lucky to be underneath a dead guy Karen (Melissa Ponzio), who helped facilitate peace between Tyreese and Rick towards the end of the finale.

So, welcome to full-time status to three of the four of you, and to the fourth, Mr. Governor Sir, I hope you take some time during the hiatus to think about what you’re doing. Take a breath. Take a nap. Take some valium. Just a thought.
